Waybill FD-4418 Class LTL Rule quote before list

Furniture resale · cube first

Secondhand furniture, measured and crated.

Photograph the piece. Stamp W×D×H and cubic feet. Price crate, blanket-wrap, or white-glove — stairs, elevator, pickup radius — before the ask goes live. Freight is the product. The listing is what remains.

Pieces ride a waybill, not a lookbook.

Every listing hangs dims, cubic feet, and a weight class. A sofa with no crate or white-glove quote stays draft. Local pickup inside 25 miles is free; beyond that, freight is priced.

Weight class sits next to cubic feet.

Under 50 lb can ride blanket-wrap. Over 150 lb is LTL. Stone, marble, and wall-hang cabinets are white-glove — they do not ride parcel.

The rule

Quote before you list.

W×D×H becomes cubic feet. Cubic feet plus weight class becomes a freight quote. The ask stays draft until crate, blanket-wrap, or white-glove is on the ticket — quote versus actual is reconciled before P&L closes.

White-glove

Velvet and gold legs do not ride a box.

Six chairs, a 72-inch table, a freight elevator reservation. Delivery window and stair notes live on the ticket before the listing publishes.

Margin after freight

Sold minus cost minus the truck.

The desk refuses to close P&L on quote. Actual freight — stairs, elevator, crate lumber — is what hits the ledger.

Take payment

Charge the piece. Freight stays in the margin.

Stripe Checkout opens on the unpaid order total. The till cannot type a price. A piece with no cube still cannot list, and a listed piece with no captured payment is not sold.

  1. Stripe CheckoutCard on Stripe. Amount from the unpaid order row.
  2. Server totalAsk minus actual freight sits on the ticket. The till does not take a typed amount.
  3. CapturedStripe marks the order captured. Then white-glove can book the truck.

Stamp the dims. Quote the truck. Then list.
